What’s with me today? All blur blur… All confuse… Or is it other people? Talking on the phone, I sound confused. Talking to the food stall owner, I sound confusing… Blur… Blur…

Usual morning bus ride to work. As usual, the lethargy sets in halfway through the trip. Kind of jolted myself awake to get down.
On my way down the bus, someone behind me dropped her ezlink card in front of me, but being half awake, I mistakenly thought the person in front of me dropped the card. I grabbed the card, ran ONTO the road with oncoming traffic and quickly tapping the person on the shoulder.
“Hello! You dropped your card!
“Huh? No. It’s not mine.”, she says turning around and quickly turning back. Think she’s shocked that someone stopped her in the middle of the road.
“Hello! Hello! Hey! That’s her card! You got the wrong person!”, someone shouts from behind me.
Shoot! This is going to be embarassing as I realised what had happened. I turned around, forcing a smile and quickly passed the card to the right person. I still did not realise that I’m in the middle of the road with ONCOMING traffic!
At the corner of my left eye, I noticed something coming, I looked up and see this cyclist barrelling towards me! Like anyone who’s been in an accident before, I froze.
Miraculously, I recovered from the initial shock and started to move. Left! He went right! Right! He went left! Damn! We were going into each other’s path! He pinches his brakes hard! Skids a bit, swerves from left to right and looks like he’s about to wipe out and there’s a bus coming towards us not far behind him!
Not knowing what to do, I let my instinct take over. My legs just went loco! They chose one direction and we took off! Luckily we went towards the side of the road and not into oncoming traffic!
Now with his path unobstructed, the cyclist steps on his pedels and pumps hard to keep his balance, speeding off while bellowing curses at me. Pretending not to hear, I stood at the side of road for a while making sure I was fully aware of what’s happening around me before crossing it.
Thankfully, I reached my office safe and sound but I feel more embarassed about the whole incident than anything else.
