Stupid ABN AMRO!!!

Posted in the usual by I@n

ABN AMRO must be one of the most brainless banks in Singapore to have engaged the most brainless marketing company to push their product for them.

As of now, I’ve received 3 calls from the same marketing company, same person trying to sell me ABN’s product. During the latest call I had to tell her in a not so nice manner that this is the 3rd time I’m receiving a call from her and they should stop calling.

Another thing is I’ve popped my back again. Damn!!! emoticon

马光…

Posted in the usual by I@n

Today after my meeting, I left the office building and saw a branch of 马光 right across the road. They are one of the more established TCM (traditional chinese medicine) centres around. As I could still barely walk due to my back injury - it’s a wonder I managed to get out for the meeting - I decided to try it out.

While waiting inside, I was feeling kind of disappointed because the place looked so old and traditional. I was also wondering if the treatment would do more harm than good. This was the first time I’ve ever been to a TCM.

The suggest I go for a 推拿 as my symptoms suggests that I might have displaced my bones. So blinded by pain, I just agreed. The treatment started.

I’ve never ever felt such pain in my whole life. For the next half an hour, I was trying my best not to scream out and I could feel myself tearing up. The 医师 just continued working on me despite my pain. After the session, I still feel stiff but at least it’s not as painful. The 医师 said that now it’s just the muscle sore from being damaged. It’s take a couple of days to recover.

Now I’m home, back feeling all sore. Just hope that the soreness will go away in a couple of days and I’ll recover.emoticon

Ohhh.. The pain…

Posted in the usual by I@n

It all started on Saturday morning. I was showering when suddenly, I felt something moved at the left side of my lower back. After my shower, the pain gradually start to build up. By the end of the day I was kind of hobbling.

Sunday itself I was almost completely immobile.. I couldn’t move without the excruciating pain running through my lower back… Whole day lying down at home…

Today cannot move too much as well… it’s painful, sore and stiff… emoticon

Don’t anyhow send resume…

Posted in the usual by I@n

Ok… Tell me the logic here. Person passes word around that he’s looking for a job as well as his criteria. Company looking for to employ asks for the resume. Person asks the company for more pay and job scope citing the fact that he doesn’t anyhow send out resumes… emoticon

No emails… Weird…

Posted in the usual by I@n

Not a single email since lunch. It’s so weird. Why am I feeling weird about it? Maybe it’s withdrawal symptoms?

In their eyes we’re always kids…

Posted in the usual by I@n

This post by aMuse reminded me of an incident that happened in a company that I used to work in.

This company was in the high into production all year round and most of the staff had to work overtime almost everyday. There was this colleague that was the quiet type but he seemed dependable and gave people the very "steady" kind of feeling. One day, his father visited the office and demanded to talk to the boss regarding his son’s constant overtime.

After what seemed like a long lecture, the father left and from that day on that colleague tried to go home slightly earlier than his usual time, which was still an hour or two after the usual knock off time.

To our parents, no matter how old we are, we’ll always be kids in their eyes but some parents seem to forget that children grow up to be adults and one way to love their children is to make sure they grow up and learn to take care of themselves.

Take this colleague for example, what his father did didn’t help at all. The workload was still as heavy and the whole company was talking about him. It was really unbearable to handle both the work and embarassment as well as the lost of credibility.

I’ve left the company since but whenever I’m reminded of this incident, I’ve always wondered how he manage to continue working there.

The fate of humanity…

Posted in the usual by I@n

Recent events have really flushed my faith in humanity down the drain. Everyday I read, see, hear and experience events that bring me to question about the fate of humanity itself.

Because of "face", pride and one’s selfish need for more, humans are willing to sacrifice each other to attain their needs. Humans are the only living creatures in this world that will actually spend resources, time and effort to make available to them things that will kill them or each other.

We never learn from history, in fact, it’s sad that we seem to try to replicate the tragic parts of history than to replicate the good parts of history.

Another senseless rant…

Orange juice… Not too much please…

Posted in the usual by I@n

I downed 4 cups of fresh orange juice within an hour. I’ve just finished clearing my bowels for the 4th time in the last hour. Note to self. Never ever finish so much orange juice at one go, even if it tastes great…emoticon

Things that happened today…

Posted in the usual by I@n

Things that happened today that sort of caught my attention.

1) Today cabs don’t like to take me where I tell them to. Today both cabs I took asked me to get off around the vicinity of where I wanted to go. Maybe I just looked too decent in my short haircut, dorky specs and nerdy office wear.

2) There’s a serious lack of credible content in Singapore. I sat through a radio programme that had a discussion about chit-chatting (è?Šå¤©) during one of the cab rides I took. It’s amazing that they come up with theories and techniques on how to engage in chit-chatting, what is considered good and bad chit-chat as well the to-dos and do-nots. Maybe that’s why I got thrown off just before I reached my destinations, I should have practice and engage in quality chit-chat.

3) Microwaved chicken burger patties with boxes that say, "Microwaved texture will not be as crunchy", will actually become extreme opposites. In fact, following the instructions stated caused mine to become a chicken cracker, a thick, crunchy, super dry and tasteless cracker. In fact, when I dropped it on the plate, I hear a loud "ding" and I wondered if I’ve cracked the plate.

4) Today is not meant to be a day for cooking your own food. Besides my chicken cracker fiasco, which was inedible, I messed up the one thing that nobody thought anybody could mess up. Instant noodles. By the time all the water evaporated, the noodle was still as hard and dry as the moment I took it out of its packing. Oh yes, did I mention that I accidentally emptied the whole pack of seasoning into it? So my instant noodles tastes like super salty chicken flavoured strings. I threw that away as well.

I’m going to drink lots of water and get some sleep. Night…emoticon

High humidity…

Posted in the usual by I@n

The humidity is eating through my anti-humidity packs like someone who’s been starved for days in a buffet line… I’ve had to change one pack for every 3 days… This is really expensive sia…

Eat money eat until like that!!!! Sheesh!!! Maybe they should just burn it down once and for all and leave it barren so next time no such thing!!! emoticon

Motivation sapped…

Posted in the usual by I@n

Everytime I’m out of the house, my mind fill up with stuff I would like to do when I’m back home. But once I’m back, all motivation disappears. 2 school of thoughts.

  • Home too comfortable, good environment to rest and idle or…
  • Fengshui not good… Thus causing unnecessary lethargy to set in…

I’m guessing option 2. But maybe I shouldn’t be so pessimitic eh?
