No lamb for ya…

My friend’s wife doesn’t allow him to have lamb ‘cos she’s born in the year of the lamb. She impose this restriction not only on my friend but her whole family as well. She’ll seriously get angry if any of them eats lamb in any form, chops, soup etc.

The poor guy would sometimes gobble down chunks of lamb when he’s out with us. The worse was when the whole lot of us went to this restaurant for a meal. He actually waited for his wife to go to the toilet and we quickly passed him a slab of lamb chop and he wolfed it down before she came back. Wel also cut up some smaller pieces of lamb and mixed it up with his pieces of steak so that she wouldn’t know.

We always disturb him about how lucky he was that his wife’s not born in the year of the pig, cow, or rooster. We even joked that he’s got to make sure his children don’t get born in those years or he’s going to be forced to be a vegetarian eventually.

Through this ordeal he’s somehow learned to appreciate any meal prepared with lamb. Maybe there’s more taste to be eating a forbidden food.

    Hiya,

the article’s true. He does have that problem and we did “smuggle” chunks of lamb to be mixed with his chunks of beef. They’re both chinese, in fact, we’re all chinese… :)
