A couple of nights ago my cable modem and TV was cut off ‘cos we forgot to make the payments for over 2 months. I found the bill, called the cable company and they said if I could make the payment at one of the AXS machines they could reactivate for me immediately.
There was one just downstairs from where I stayed so I decided to go make the payment. I got dressed and opened my door to find a black cat sitting just outside the doorstep and looking at the entrance. It’s weird enough to find a black cat sitting quietly at the doorstep and looking at the entrance but the fact that it’s doing that at 2 plus in the morning startled me and got my mind racing.
The cat and I sort of stared at each other for quite a while before I moved towards it. It immediately bolted towards the opposite direction. That’s when a pretty strong breeze started blowing. I felt a sudden chill but told myself not to be silly and went downstairs anyway. When I reached the first level the cat was nowhere to be seen.
I quickly walked towards the AXS machine, the breeze was picking up and growing into a pretty strong wind. When I reached the AXS machine, there was a message indicating that it’s currently undergoing some maintenance. Cursing my luck, I started back to my place when I noticed that there was absolutely nothing in sight. Nothing as in cars, taxis or cats. It was very quiet except for the wind blowing. It’s very weird ‘cos there’s ALWAYS something around my neighborhood. Something was NOT RIGHT.
Telling myself again not to be silly, I quicken my pace and once inside my house, I looked out the window and it looked like the wind has died off as suddenly as it had started. Not understanding what has just happened I told myself not to think too much about it and went to bed.

On Christmas Eve I was the Santa Claus at a mahjong game. I couldn’t believe my luck and lack of attention. We started the game at around 2 pm in the afternoon and stopped at 12 am this morning. I won a total of only 2 times. I lose like a miserable idiot or Santa Claus giving out presents. But one good thing though, I now know enough to play mahjong comfortably although I do have a lot of work to do on the winning…

Taking wedding event pictures is a real hassle. It’s a lot of hard work and it’s most of the time, a thankless job. I’ve told myself so many times that I’m going to quit doing that ‘cos I feel so tired and frustrated after the shoots especially when I look at the cost / benefit analysis of it all.
I believe that one should take on such assignments only when one is truly interested in wedding pictures. But alas, every time I get paid, I feel so much better and I take up another assignment. I’m such a sellout. What have I become???

I cleaned up my room the right way today by throwing away stuff. Usually it’s a waste of time for me ‘cos I tend to move my mess from one pile onto another. Today I did it the right way and I’m quite surprise at what I find.
Here’s some of the stuff that I found:
1) 6 combs from QB.
2) Receipts from the year 2003.
3) Mails from the year 2002 and 2003.
And a lot of other stuff. So I took out a few trash bags and I just went throwing away. Let’s just hope I didn’t throw away anything that I shouldn’t be throwing away.

Wow… Looking out the window saw the sky and it looks like a big storm’s brewing…
Update:
Storm did not come. Enjoyed the cool breeze though…

Just heard on the radio, this DJ was telling everyone on the air that she’s just given out Christmas presents to all her colleagues. Also, she shared about how she was up till 2am to wrap everyone of them personally as she believes only in wrapping the gifts herself. Come on! How fake and needy can you get? Do you need to have the whole country appreciate your effort? Sheesh…

I’m suffering from the lack of sleep. I’m now thinking of taking a short nap but there’s this nagging feeling that I’ve missed out something. It’s so difficult to focus on work now. I wonder if we have muscles around our eyelids and if so, could we train them to lift heavier weights like my eyelids?

A cool breeze is blowing into the room. The temperature’s just right. It’s a perfect night for a good sleep and I just can’t seem to get myself to do just that. Not even when I’m feeling pretty tired.
A sudden onslaught of stuffy nose is not helping either. Maybe by hammering out this meaningless entry it’ll help? So far, up till now, it hasn’t help.

I came all the way to raffles city to get myself a pair of shoes only to realise that I left all my cards at home.
My ATM and creditcards. All of ‘em sitting at a corner of my table leaving me with only loose change, of which I can’t do anything with other than have a subway meal.
Now I’m sitting in the train on my way home feeling like an idiot…
Update:
Looking at the positive side of the matter, I did have a nice subway meal and I did save the amount that I would have spent on the shoes. The fact that I’m going to have very painful feet after tomorrow’s shoot from wearing damaged shoes is of no consequence when it comes to the money I’m saving. Well, you can’t have everything…

Government says that they are still gathering feedback before actual embarkment on the casino project. But signs are showing that it’s a definite go ahead on the project.
I was still hoping that there was a chance that they will not go ahead with it, but that chance diminished as the news reported that the government has hired PWC as consultant for the casino. So much for a consultative government.
Gambling is not something one can control. It’s influence is beyond what they can comprehend. IF it’s something they can control, they would not have been influenced to consider starting one in Singapore in the first place. They would have just stood by the decision to not start one ever.
It’s also a proven fact that once people gamble, the tendency is that control will be lost. There are so many examples of people loosing their fortune and ability to maintain a cool mind to make the correct decisions. And there’s so many white collar crimes all relating to gambling.
Mark my words, they are getting into something that will just spiral out of their control. It will definitely be a very humbling experience for the snobs in our goverment but by then it may be too late.
